What information should be provided about ORV campaigns?

Short, but precise information should be given on (i) why, where, when and how vaccine baits are distributed in the field, (ii) when the vaccination campaign will presumably be over, (iii) codes of behaviour (humans and domestic animals should avoid contact with vaccine baits, and the phone number of a physician or veterinarian to call in cases of contact) and (iii) why and how long restrictions for pet animals (keeping dogs on a leash) will be in place.

Public health authorities may also wish to consider advice associated with the bait markers (TC). As TC is an antibiotic, game animals should not be used for consumption during a certain period after bait distribution, to avoid antibiotic microbial resistance.
